Job Description
Title/Classification: Library Assistant I – Young Adult Services
Reports to: Young Adult Librarian
Starting Salary: $17.50 per hour
Schedule: Part-time, 20-hour-per-week position, including two evenings per week and alternating Saturdays
Position Summary: Performs a wide range of clerical/manual functions. Work involves frequent customer contact in person and by telephone and the use of computers. Position will cover public desk in Teen Room. May be cross-trained to work at other service points within the department.
Qualifications: High school diploma or GED. Proficient computer skills essential, particularly in Microsoft Office Suite. Some experience working in a library or retail setting preferred. Fluency in Spanish/Polish or other locally prevalent language preferred.
